About Joseph E.
Joseph E. Richards entered the legal field after completing law school in Southern California. He earned his J.D. from Whittier Law School in 2011 and holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and French from Lake Forest College. That combination of liberal arts and legal training shaped an approach to cases that balances practical concerns and technical detail.
Richards began work in the trenches of a law office immediately after law school. He served as a legal assistant and later as a lawyer at Mehr Law Group, P.C. in 2011. Those early years provided regular exposure to courtroom filings, client interviews and the paperwork that frames litigation. He moved on to the Law Offices of Singer & Benjumea in 2013, where he continued to handle matters that required close attention to procedural deadlines.
By 2014 Richards had experience at several small firms. That year he worked at the Law Offices of Weitzman & Estes and also established the Law Office of Joseph Richards, P.C. The sequence of positions shows a steady progression from support roles to taking direct responsibility for clients. He developed practical skills in case preparation and advocacy during those transitions.
Richards is admitted to practice in California. He is a Certified Specialist in Workers' Compensation Law through the State Bar of California’s Board of Legal Specialization. That credential signals an emphasis on workers’ compensation matters and a familiarity with the rules and standards that govern that area of law.
His professional memberships include the California Applicants’ Lawyers Association, where he has been a member since 2015, and the Orange County Bar Association, a membership he has held since 2011. Those affiliations connect him to peers who practice in labor and injury arenas and to organizations that track developments in administrative and trial practice.
Today Richards operates the Law Office of Joseph Richards, P.C. in California. He continues to handle workers’ compensation cases and related matters for clients in the region. His current practice concentrates on representing injured workers in administrative proceedings and appeals related to workplace injuries.
