About Joseph
Joseph Brugnoli built a career that moves from military service to street-level policing and then into the courtroom. He earned a B.A. in Criminal Justice and Police Science from Michigan State University in 2002 after beginning his studies in 1999. He returned to school several years later and completed a J.D. at Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2012, having enrolled there in 2009.
His early adult life included service in the United States Army as an Army Ranger in 1996. He continued his military involvement with the United States Army National Guard, serving as an LRS team leader beginning in 1999. Those years of service preceded a move into municipal law enforcement. In 2005 he joined the City of Ferndale police department, an experience that shaped his understanding of law on the ground and the realities officers face.
Brugnoli shifted toward legal practice after law school. He interned at the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office in 2012, gaining exposure to prosecutorial work and courtroom procedures. The following year he took a role with Ranger Law, PLLC. In 2014 he worked at Rademaker Law, PC, and by 2017 he was listed as a lawyer at Grabel & Associates. Those positions reflect a steady progression through several small firm environments and a variety of caseloads.
He is licensed to practice in Michigan and maintains membership in the State Bar of Michigan. He is also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, a connection that dates back to his time in law enforcement beginning in 2005 and continuing to the present. These affiliations underscore the combination of public safety experience and legal practice that marks his professional profile.
Colleagues and clients who have encountered him in court or at police scenes will note a background that spans enforcement, federal service, and civil practice. His path is marked by transitions from soldier to officer to attorney, each step adding practical perspective to his legal work. He practices law at Grabel & Associates in Michigan, where he handles matters arising under Michigan law.
