About Jonathan S.
Jonathan S. Mann built his legal foundation at Samford University, where he earned a B.A. in 2005, and returned to Cumberland School of Law to receive his J.D. in 2011. He completed his formal legal training in Alabama and soon after gained admission to practice there and in several federal courts. Those early years set the pattern for a courtroom-centered career.
After law school, Mann moved into litigation and gradually took on greater responsibilities. He is admitted to the Alabama bar, to the Alabama Supreme Court, and to the United States District Courts for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Alabama. That combination of state and federal admissions has allowed him to handle a range of cases that require appearances in both state and federal venues.
Mann is a lawyer and shareholder at Pittman, Dutton, Hellums, Bradley & Mann, P.C. His role at the firm involves case management, trial preparation and courtroom advocacy. Colleagues describe him as pragmatic and thorough; clients have relied on him for representation that requires sustained attention in litigation. Over time he has taken on matters that move through discovery, motion practice and trial phases.
Professional associations have been a steady part of Mann’s career. He holds memberships in the Alabama State Bar Association and the Birmingham Bar Association. He is also a member of the Alabama Association for Justice and the American Association for Justice. These memberships keep him connected to developments in trial practice and to peers who handle similar matters across the state and the country.
In the office, Mann blends the procedural demands of litigation with the deadlines of courtroom work. He oversees cases that involve pretrial strategy, briefing, and hearings. He is involved in settlement discussions when they arise, and he prepares clients for trial when those efforts do not resolve a dispute. His courtroom admissions mean he can move a matter from state to federal court depending on where a case must be heard.
Outside of hearings and filings, Mann keeps up with continuing legal education and bar activities that relate to trial procedure and litigation practice. He is based at Pittman, Dutton, Hellums, Bradley & Mann, P.C., where he continues to represent clients in state and federal courts. He currently practices at the firm, handling civil litigation matters in state and federal courts.
