About Jonathan M.
Jonathan M. Young built his legal foundation at DePauw University, where he earned a B.A. in political science in 1999. He went on to the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law and received his J.D. in 2004. Those years in the classroom were followed by steady entry into Indiana’s legal community.
He began his post-law school work in the county courthouse. In 2005 he served as a law clerk for the Warrick County Court, a role that placed him close to the day-to-day operations of the local judiciary. Two years later he joined the Indiana Department of Child Services as a staff lawyer. At the department he handled matters tied to the agency’s responsibilities and represented the state in administrative and legal proceedings.
Young has remained active in professional and civic organizations across southwestern Indiana. He has been a member of the Warrick County Bar Association since 2006 and has served as its president. He joined the Indiana State Bar Association the same year, and became a member of the Evansville Bar Association in 2009. Outside strictly legal circles, he held a leadership post in local preservation efforts as vice president of Historic Newburgh, Inc., from 2009 until 2013.
Those affiliations reflect a career spent largely within the state and the region. Young’s work ties him to county courts, state agencies and the local bar community. The mix of government service and private practice has given him familiarity with procedure in state hearings and courtroom practice at the county level.
Since moving into private practice he has operated from his own office, the Law Office of Jonathan M. Young. He represents clients in matters that arise under Indiana law and draws on prior experience at the Department of Child Services and in county courts when appropriate. Colleagues and local bar groups count him among those who have sustained long-term involvement in the region’s legal institutions.
He maintains an active practice in Indiana, handling client matters from his private office. His current practice focuses on representing local clients in matters arising under Indiana law.
