About Jonathan M.
Jonathan M. Feigenbaum studied politics and government at the University of Vermont before heading to Suffolk University Law School for his legal training. He emerged from law school into a practice that centers on employee benefits and insurance litigation. Early academic choices gave him a grounding in policy and advocacy that he carried into courtrooms and professional organizations.
He is admitted to practice in California and Massachusetts, and holds admissions in several federal appellate circuits, including the 1st, 2nd and 6th Circuits, as well as in the District of Columbia. That mix of state and federal credentials has allowed him to handle matters that cross jurisdictional lines and to appear in both trial and appellate settings.
Feigenbaum has been active in bar and professional groups for decades. He served as chair of the Torts, Insurance Practices, Health and Disability Committee of the American Bar Association from 2014 to 2015. He has also served as past chair of the Insurance Section of the American Association for Justice and as past chair of the ERISA and Long Term Disability and Health Insurance Litigation Group within the same organization. His roles in those associations have involved organizing panels, contributing to practice materials and mentoring younger lawyers.
In Massachusetts he has held officer roles in the Massachusetts Employment Lawyers Association, including terms as secretary and treasurer, and he chaired that group's ERISA section. He is a fellow of the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel and maintains memberships in the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Lawyers and the Boston Bar Association. He contributes to professional literature as a contributing author to the Employee Benefits Law treatise for the American Bar Association Employee Benefits Committee.
Outside the bar room he participates in pro bono and public education efforts. He is listed with United Policyholders for the Ask An Lawyer program, offering guidance on insurance coverage questions to the public. The combination of association leadership and public-facing volunteer work reflects a career spent both in litigation and in the institutions that shape practice standards.
Feigenbaum’s litigation practice has involved ERISA disputes, long-term disability and health insurance claims, and related insurance coverage matters in trial and appellate courts. He continues to handle cases and to work within professional organizations that address employee benefits and insurance law, and his current practice concentrates on ERISA, disability and health insurance litigation.
