About Jonathan
Jonathan Layman built a steady path into the law after studying history as an undergraduate. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Ohio State University in 2005 and later completed his Juris Doctor at Capital University Law School in 2011. Those academic years set the foundation for a practical approach to courtroom work and client representation.
Early in his legal training, Layman gained hands-on experience at a small firm. He served as a law clerk at Kevin O Brien & Associates beginning in 2005. That position exposed him to day-to-day legal practice and gave him an early view of client work, court procedures and case preparation. He returned to the same firm as a lawyer in 2011, stepping into a broader role after finishing law school.
Also in 2011, Layman took on public-sector work as a prosecutor for the City of Circleville. In that role he handled cases on behalf of the municipal government and appeared in local courts. The combination of prosecutorial work and private practice provided him with experience on both sides of the courtroom aisle and sharpened his attention to procedural detail.

He maintains an active private practice in Ohio under the firm name Jonathan M. Layman, Lawyer at Law, LLC and handles litigation and related legal matters in state court.
