About Jonathan

Jonathan Jacobs combines classroom experience and legal training in a practice based in Florida. He began his academic journey at the University of Connecticut, earning a B.A. in History in 2001 and a master’s degree the following year. After some time away from the classroom he returned to formal legal study, completing his J.D. at Barry University Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law in 2017.

His early professional life did not start in a law office. In 2005 he worked in marketing and public relations for a small technology firm. Later he taught high school. In 2012 he taught honors English and ran a dual enrollment history program at Clewiston High School. The next year he taught Advanced Placement English at Leesburg High School. Those years in secondary education shaped how he explains legal issues to clients and juries.

While in law school he took on practical legal roles. In 2016 he served as a certified legal intern at the State Lawyer’s Office in the Ninth Judicial Circuit. He also worked as a certified legal intern at the Barry Legal Defense Clinic that year. One year after graduating, in 2017, he opened his own practice. He is listed as the managing partner of Jacobs Law Office, PLLC and also operates Jacobs Family Law Office.

His bar membership is in Florida. He maintains ties to the local legal community through membership in the Lake County Bar Association and the Orange County Bar Association. Those affiliations provide a regular forum for continuing education and local court contacts, and they anchor his practice in regional networks.

Jacobs’s work spans the practical demands of running a small firm and the courtroom and client-facing work of a trial lawyer. His background in teaching shows up in courtroom testimony and client counseling. He has handled matters that require plainspoken explanations and a steady command of procedural detail.

Today he manages the operations of his two offices and handles intake, case strategy and courtroom appearances. He keeps office operations lean and client communications direct. He practices in Florida and handles family law matters alongside other civil cases in the region.

He currently practices family law and related civil matters in Florida.
