About Jonathan E.
Jonathan E. Freidin earned his undergraduate degree from The George Washington University in 2005 and completed his law degree at the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2012. He moved quickly from law school into a federal clerkship, an early step that shaped how he approaches legal work.
After graduation he served as a law clerk to Hon. Donald M. Middlebrooks in 2012. The clerkship exposed him to federal litigation and the mechanics of judicial decision-making. He returned to private practice soon after and within two years assumed a leadership role at Freidin Brown, P.A., becoming managing partner in 2014.
His time leading a small firm has meant wearing many hats. He oversees case strategy, client intake and the daily operations of the office. That role has also kept him engaged in courtroom work and brief writing. The practical tasks of managing a firm sit alongside client representation in Florida courts.
Freidin’s public service and community involvement extend beyond the office. He has served on the Miami Beach Planning Board since 2022, participating in local land use and procedural matters. Since 2020 he has been on the board of SAVE LGBT and serves as chair, a position that involves governance and organizational oversight. He has held memberships in professional groups across South Florida and the state, including GALLA, the Dade and Broward County Bar Associations, the Florida Justice Association and the Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division. He is also a member of the American Bar Association and the University of Florida Alumni Association.
Colleagues describe him as methodical and practical in his work. He brings the perspective of a former federal clerk to dispute resolution and court filings. At the same time, his civic roles reflect an interest in municipal process and nonprofit governance.
He maintains his practice in Florida through Freidin Brown, P.A., where he manages firm activities and represents clients in state matters. His current practice focuses on handling litigation and related legal matters in Florida courts.
