About John L. Shahdanian

John L. Shahdanian II practices law in New Jersey and New York and has served in several bar leadership roles. He graduated from Boston College in 1994 with a B.A. in political science and earned his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1997. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York and is admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

After law school, Shahdanian built a practice shaped by litigation and bar association work. Over the years he has combined courtroom work with professional service. That dual path led him into positions where he both represents clients and helps shape local bar governance.

His involvement in organized bar activities is extensive. He has served as a trustee of the New Jersey State Bar Association since 2017 and has held the role of secretary for its Labor and Employment Section since 2019. Locally, he joined the Bergen County Bar Association as a trustee in 2021 and continues in that office. He also served as president of the Seton Hall University School of Law Alumni Council from 2018 to 2019. Those roles put him in regular contact with judges, practitioners and law students.

Shahdanian is on the roster at McCusker, Anselmi, Rosen & Carvelli, P.C. His work includes matters in labor and employment law and cases that have required appellate briefing in the Third Circuit. He navigates administrative proceedings, and he has appeared in state and federal courts in the region. Colleagues describe him as methodical; he favors careful preparation and steady advocacy in contested matters.

Outside of litigation, Shahdanian often engages in the bar’s educational and governance efforts. He has spoken at association events and participated in committee work tied to professional standards and practice management. That activity extends his practice beyond individual files and into issues that affect lawyers and clients across New Jersey and New York.

Today Shahdanian continues to practice at McCusker, Anselmi, Rosen & Carvelli, P.C., handling labor and employment matters and related appellate work.
