About Justin A
Justin A Jacobs earned his bachelor’s degree in political science and history from Vassar College in 2006. He went on to receive a J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law in 2009. Those formative years established the academic base he would build on in courts and firms in the New York and New Jersey region.
After law school Jacobs began his legal career clerking for the Staff Lawyers Office of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in 2009. The clerkship gave him early exposure to appellate procedure and the inner workings of a federal court. He moved into private practice a few years later and joined Genova Burns LLC as an associate in 2011.
At Genova Burns Jacobs handled a range of matters typical of a mid-sized firm, developing practical courtroom and client-management skills. In 2016 he became a partner at Spector & Ehrenworth, P.C., where his role expanded to include supervising associates and taking primary responsibility for client relationships. His partnership appointments reflect a steady progression in responsibility rather than a single dramatic pivot.
Jacobs has been active in bar and professional organizations throughout his career. He holds membership in the State Bar of New Jersey and has been involved with the Morris County Bar Association since 2016. He also joined the New Jersey chapter of the Federal Bar Association in 2016. Outside of paid practice he has volunteered for Volunteer Lawyers for Justice since 2014, taking on pro bono matters and contributing to access-to-justice efforts in the region.
In 2023 Jacobs became a partner at Law Advocates LLC. He is admitted to practice in both New York and New Jersey and has built a practice that spans matters in both states. His work combines courtroom experience from his early clerkship with the case-handling responsibilities he has carried as a partner. He currently practices at Law Advocates LLC and represents clients in matters across New York and New Jersey.
