About John Kenneth
John Kenneth Joyner earned his B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley in 2011 and completed his J.D. at the University of Denver in 2016. He finished law school after four years of undergraduate study and moved into practice in Colorado. The combination of a public university education and a Denver law degree set the stage for a career that has included both public service and private practice.
After law school, Joyner began working in the Colorado legal community. In 2017 he took a post as a Deputy District Lawyer in the 4th Judicial District Lawyer's Office. That same year he also worked as an associate at Furtado Law PC. He founded Joyner Law in 2018 and subsequently joined McKinney & Associates, PC as an associate in 2019. Those moves reflect a willingness to work in different parts of the system — in courtrooms, in law offices and in client-facing roles.
The variety of positions on his résumé has given Joyner practical courtroom experience and a familiarity with case preparation, motion practice and client counseling. Time in a district office exposed him to courtroom calendars and the routines of public litigation. Work at private firms involved day-to-day client contact and the kinds of file management that keep cases moving. Together, those roles shaped a pragmatic approach to handling legal matters in Colorado.
