About John Harris
John Harris Schapiro took a conventional path through two of the country's most selective schools. He earned a B.A. from Yale University in 1978 and finished his J.D. at Stanford Law School in 1981. Those credentials set the stage for a lengthy career in Pennsylvania law.
He joined the Pennsylvania bar in 1984 and has maintained membership in the Pennsylvania State Bar since then. Early in his career he joined a firm that would become a long-term home: Kleinbard, Bell & Brecker LLP. Over the years he advanced to partner at that firm, building a practice centered on clients who needed counsel in state matters.
Colleagues describe Schapiro as steady and deliberate. He has been practicing in Pennsylvania for decades and has navigated the changes that come with long-term practice: shifting regulations, new business models for firms, and evolving client expectations. Those years in practice provided a foundation for the partner role he held at Kleinbard, Bell & Brecker LLP and for his continued work out of Kleinbard LLC, Lawyers at Law.
Schapiro's professional life has also included ongoing engagement with the state bar. His continuous membership in the Pennsylvania State Bar since 1984 indicates a long-running connection to the organized bar community. That affiliation has kept him in contact with peers, the courts, and the regulatory environment that governs practice in the state.
He has handled matters for both organizations and individuals, advising on legal issues that arise under Pennsylvania law. There are no public listings here of landmark cases or published treatises tied to his name, but his steady presence in private practice and his partner title reflect sustained involvement in client representation and firm work over many years.
Today Schapiro is based at Kleinbard LLC, Lawyers at Law, where he continues to practice. He remains admitted and active in Pennsylvania and continues to represent clients on matters arising under state law.
