About John G.
John G. Anderson built a career that moves from neighborhoods and campaigns to the courthouse. He started out in real estate, spent time running a political campaign, and then turned to law. The variety of those early roles shaped the practical approach he brings to legal work.
He earned his J.D. from the James E. Rogers College of Law at the University of Arizona in 2013. That formal legal training followed several years of work in other fields. The law degree positioned him for public service and for later roles in private practice.
Before law school and practice, Anderson worked as a realtor in 2006 for the Arizona Association of Realtors and MLS. He also managed a statewide campaign in 2009, serving as campaign manager for Ted Vogt. Those experiences gave him a grounding in local communities and in the political and regulatory environments that affect everyday transactions.
Anderson moved into public law practice after graduation. In 2014 he joined the Pima County Lawyer's Office as a deputy county lawyer in the Criminal Division. There he handled matters on behalf of the county and worked with prosecutors, victims, and law enforcement. The position required courtroom time and a steady stream of casework.
In 2019 he entered private practice as a partner at Munger Denker Ruiz Barbour. The partnership followed several years of government work and the transition to representing private clients. He also holds membership in the Pima County Bar Association, a connection that keeps him tied to the local legal community and to peers across the county.
Colleagues describe Anderson as straightforward and pragmatic in handling matters. He balances courtroom experience from his county work with an understanding of transactional and community concerns from his earlier jobs. That mix informs how he approaches individual cases and client questions.
Today he is a partner at Munger Denker Ruiz Barbour. He practices law in Arizona and his current practice focuses on legal matters in the state.
