About John Francis

John Francis Kennedy built his legal foundation at the University of Scranton, where he earned a B.A. in 1982, and at Villanova University School of Law, completing his J.D. in 1989. He entered the profession in a period of shifting legal practice, when federal and state dockets were growing more complex. Those early years shaped a methodical approach to casework and court procedure.

After law school, Kennedy established himself in Pennsylvania practice. He is admitted to the bar in Pennsylvania and holds the credentials to appear before the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the Federal Circuit. That combination of state and federal admissions has allowed him to move between trial-level work and appellate matters. Over time he has taken on cases that required both courtroom preparation and appellate briefing.

Practice over several decades has included litigation and appeals across a range of civil matters. Cases have touched on procedural and substantive questions that arise in state courts and in federal forums. Kennedy’s approach tends to favor careful attention to pleading and record development. He emphasizes clarity in written submissions and steadiness in oral argument. Colleagues describe him as steady in court and precise on paper.

Professional involvement has included membership in the Pennsylvania State Bar. He maintains that membership as part of the routine professional obligations that come with active practice in the state. That engagement has kept him current on changes in state rules and practice developments at the appellate level. Participation in bar activities has also provided a regular forum for exchanging ideas with other lawyers who handle both trial and appellate work.

Kennedy practices under the name KENNEDY LAW OFFICES. He works on matters that require counsel in both state and federal settings and continues to appear in trial courts as well as on appeal. His day-to-day work combines case management, client counseling, motion practice and appellate briefing. He currently focuses his practice at KENNEDY LAW OFFICES on matters in state and federal courts.
