About John
John Fessler began his legal path at the University of Notre Dame, where he completed his undergraduate studies in 1982. He earned his J.D. from the University of Dayton School of Law in 1985. Those early years set the stage for a career spent largely in the courts of Pennsylvania and in federal forums that serve the state.
Soon after law school, he became active in the legal community. He joined the Erie County Bar Association in 1985 and has maintained that membership ever since. He later became a member of the Pennsylvania State Bar in 1995. Memberships in local and state bar organizations have been a steady thread through his professional life.
Fessler is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania. He is also admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Those admissions allow him to appear in both trial and appellate federal courts on matters arising in the region.
His firm affiliation is Quinn Law Office. He advanced to the role of shareholder there in 2013. That position reflects long-term involvement at the firm and responsibility for client matters and case strategy. He has spent much of his career representing clients in courtrooms and at counsel tables, working on matters that require appearances in state and federal court.
Outside of litigation, Fessler participates in professional and community institutions. He holds membership in an American Inn of Court. He also serves on the Cathedral Prep Advisory Board. Those roles place him in contact with both peers and local institutions that intersect with legal education and civic life.
Colleagues describe him as steady and practical in the courtroom. He has spent decades operating within established court systems and professional organizations, earning the familiarity that comes from long service. He has not limited his practice to a single courthouse; admission to the Third Circuit and the Western District reflects that broader reach.
As of 2026, he continues at Quinn Law Office. He maintains active bar memberships and appears in state and federal courts, handling litigation and appellate matters as part of his ongoing practice focus.
