About John
John DeGirolamo earned his J.D. from Barry University in 2006 after completing a B.A. in Pre-Law and Criminology at the University of Tampa in 2002. His academic path combined classroom study of criminal law with coursework aimed at preparing for courtroom practice. The early years after law school were spent building practical skills in litigation and client counseling.
He began his post-law school career at Butler & Hosch, P.A., where he worked on criminal defense matters from 2009. Two years later he joined Charles M. Greene, P.A., continuing to handle arraignments, motions, and trial preparation. In 2013 he opened his own firm, The Law Offices of John DeGirolamo, Esq. - In Law We Trust, P.A., taking on direct responsibility for case strategy, client intake, and courtroom appearances.
DeGirolamo is admitted to practice in Florida and in the U.S. District Courts for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida. Those admissions allow him to represent clients in both state and federal proceedings. Over the years he has handled a range of criminal matters, including misdemeanor and felony charges, pretrial hearings, plea negotiations, and jury trials. He regularly appears in trial courts and in federal district court when matters move beyond state jurisdiction.
Outside the courtroom he is a member of professional organizations that reflect his trial work. He has belonged to the Polk County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association since 2013 and joined The National Trial Lawyers of America in 2014. Those memberships offer networking and continuing-education opportunities that support case preparation and courtroom technique.
Clients working with DeGirolamo can expect direct involvement from him at every stage of a case. He manages discovery requests, drafts motions, and takes the lead at hearings. His practice emphasizes timely communication about case developments and the procedural steps ahead. He tends to handle matters that require hands-on litigation rather than only transactional work.
Over time his practice has stayed centered on criminal defense in both state and federal settings. He continues to accept cases through his firm and appears regularly in the courts where he is admitted. He currently represents clients facing state and federal criminal charges and handles related pretrial and trial work.
