Mr. Kirke earned his Juris Doctor degree from the UCLA School of Law in 1994, where he was a full-time extern for the Honorable William J. Rea in the United States District Court for the Central District of California in 1993. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at the University of California at Berkeley, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Political Science in 1990.
Mr. Kirke concentrates his practice in the areas of securities litigation, insurance coverage, real estate, and commercial litigation. He represents clients in matters involving securities fraud, insurance disputes, real property lease valuation, and commercial contract disputes. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Kirke has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Alameda, the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to joining Donahue Fitzgerald LLP in 2001, he was an associate in the Securities Litigation Group at Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison in San Francisco from 1999 to 2001 and in the Litigation Department at Troop Steuber Pasich Reddick & Tobey in Los Angeles from 1995 to 1999.
Mr. Kirke is an active member of the Alameda County Bar Association and the Contra Costa County Bar Association. He has served as a Judge Pro Tempore for the Alameda Superior Court. He is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing him to serve the diverse communities of the San Francisco Bay Area effectively.
