About Joey

Joey Miller began his academic path at Rhodes College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy and German in 2004. He moved on to Saint Louis University and completed a Juris Doctor in 2008, concentrating his studies in intellectual property law. That combination of humanities and technical legal training shaped how he approaches problems: precise, analytical and attentive to language.

After law school, Miller built a practice grounded in intellectual property. He has worked on matters that touch both the technical and commercial sides of IP law. His work has involved prosecution, licensing questions and disputes that require careful document review and strategic thinking. He approaches those tasks by breaking complex issues into manageable pieces and by focusing on the practical outcomes clients need.

Miller is admitted to practice in Texas. His career there has involved representing clients across different industries, advising on rights and protections, and responding to enforcement challenges. He has handled filings and formal proceedings as well as negotiated agreements. Colleagues describe his courtroom and transactional work as methodical and focused on the facts.

His undergraduate study in philosophy and German informs his legal writing and analysis. That background often shows up in how he frames arguments, structures briefs and anticipates counterarguments. He places value on clear explanations; he aims to make technical subjects understandable for company leaders, inventors and in-house counsel.

Outside of casework, Miller has continued to follow developments in intellectual property law and national trends in enforcement and protection. He reads new decisions closely and adjusts his practice to reflect changes in precedent and procedure. He maintains a practice in Texas and focuses on intellectual property matters.
