About Joel
Joel Elsea is an attorney who trained at Stetson University College of Law, earning his J.D. in 2004. He practices in Florida and built his legal foundation soon after law school. His early years in the profession set the tone for a career oriented around courtroom work.
He began his career in 2004 as an Assistant State Lawyer at the Office of State Lawyer. That role marked his entry into public-sector practice and provided direct exposure to the demands of courtroom practice. He spent those formative years handling the tasks assigned by the office and developing an approach to litigation that would shape later work.
In 2016 he moved into private practice as a lawyer with Wilkes & McHugh. His time there broadened his experience in handling client matters outside the government setting. Working at a private firm introduced him to different procedural and client-management challenges than those he had faced in the public sector.
In 2020 he founded Elsea Law Office, P.A., where he serves as founder and trial lawyer. The firm reflects his transition from staff roles to building and running a practice of his own. He has structured the office to handle contested matters that require courtroom preparation, evidentiary hearings and trial advocacy.
He holds current membership in professional associations relevant to his work. Those memberships keep him connected to peers and developments in the practice of law in Florida. He also maintains ties to the legal community through courtroom appearances and ongoing case work.
Throughout his career he has emphasized trial work and litigation tasks. He represents clients in matters that require courtroom representation, managing pretrial filings, motion practice and settlement discussions when appropriate. He handles the practical demands of preparing witnesses, compiling evidence and presenting cases before judges or juries.
Today he practices at Elsea Law Office, P.A., where he continues to serve clients in Florida courts and concentrates on trial litigation and related courtroom matters.
