About Jim Saxon
Jim Saxon Hart graduated from Texas Tech University School of Law in 1991 after completing a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance at Texas Tech in 1984. He arrived in the legal world equipped with a law degree and a clear direction toward labor and employment matters. The combination of a business undergraduate degree and a law degree gave him an early grounding in the financial and regulatory aspects of workplace disputes.
He began his legal career in 1991 as a labor and employment lawyer at Andrews Kurth LLP. Four years later he moved to Williams Kherkher and became a partner in 1995. That shift marked the start of a long association with the firm. Over decades he has practiced in both state and federal venues and built experience handling contested matters and counseling clients.
Hart is licensed to practice in Texas and Pennsylvania and holds admissions to the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Western and Eastern Districts, as well as to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He is Board Certified in Labor & Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. That certification distinguishes attorneys who have met education and experience standards set by the state board and who continue to meet ongoing requirements.
His work covers a range of labor and employment issues. He handles litigation in state and federal courts, represents parties in arbitration and administrative proceedings, and assists on collective bargaining and labor-management matters. He has worked on cases involving alleged discrimination, wage and hour disputes, and other contested employment claims. He also advises employers and organizations on compliance questions and preventive strategies.
Hart maintains memberships in several professional organizations. He is a member of the Texas State Bar Association, the Houston Bar Association, and the Texas Trial Lawyers Association. Those memberships provide access to continuing legal education and to peer networks that inform courtroom practice and case strategy.
Colleagues describe Hart as steady in the courtroom and methodical in preparation. His background in finance and long track record in labor and employment law inform how he approaches complicated factual and legal issues. He currently practices labor and employment law at Williams Kherkher, handling workplace disputes, collective bargaining, litigation, and compliance matters.
