About Jill
Jill MacDonald earned her law degree from Suffolk University Law School in 2011 after completing a bachelor’s degree at Curry College in 2007. She moved quickly from classroom to courthouse, entering the legal workforce in roles that exposed her to both firm practice and public-sector work. Early employment as a legal secretary and assistant at several Massachusetts firms gave her practical grounding in litigation support and client service before she pursued her J.D.
Her post-law school path led into public service. In 2012 she served as an assistant district lawyer in Middlesex, where she gained courtroom experience and handled matters on behalf of the office. Prior to that she worked as an investigator for The Office of Bar Counsel in 2008, a role that involved fact-finding and review of professional conduct issues. Those positions framed a practical understanding of procedure and evidence that she has carried into later roles.
Between 2014 and 2015 she practiced in private firms. She was an associate at Stopa & Associates, LLC in 2014 and joined Bellotti Law Group, P.C. as a lawyer in 2015. Earlier positions at Eckert Seamans and Lynch, Brewer, Hoffman & Fink, LLP, and at Murphy, Hesse, Toomey & Lehane, LLP, kept her connected to typical law firm workflows, from document preparation to case intake and client communications. The arc of jobs, from support to investigator to courtroom lawyer, reflects steady progression through different parts of the legal system.
She is an active member of both the Norfolk Bar Association and the Massachusetts Bar Association. Those memberships keep her engaged with local and statewide practice issues and provide opportunities to stay current on procedural developments and continuing education. Her combination of firm-side and public-sector experience informs the way she evaluates cases and prepares for hearings.
MacDonald’s background is notable for its variety rather than a single narrow specialty. She has handled investigative work, prosecution-side matters, and firm litigation support over the course of her career. That mix lends a practical perspective to fact development and case strategy. She practices at Bellotti Law Group, P.C., where she applies courtroom and investigative experience to the matters she handles in private practice.
Her current practice focuses on matters that draw on both courtroom experience and regulatory or investigative work.
