About Jessica Y.
Jessica Y. Pilgrim built her professional life on steady progression through law school and into a local practice that has kept her tied to Alabama communities. She arrived at the law after an undergraduate interest in government and society, then turned that interest into a legal career that began in the early 2010s.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Sweet Briar College in 2010, where she studied Government and Law and Society. She continued her education at Mississippi College School of Law, receiving a Juris Doctor in 2013. Those years shaped her understanding of how legal institutions interact with everyday life and prepared her for courtroom and client work.
After law school, she entered practice in Alabama. She has been associated with Pilgrim & Pilgrim since 2013. She is a member of the Alabama State Bar and belongs to the Mobile Bar Association and its Family Law Section. Those memberships place her in the mainstream of the state’s legal community and keep her connected to colleagues who handle similar cases.
Her work has concentrated on family law matters. Over the course of her career she has handled cases that include divorce, custody, support, and related family disputes. The practice demands attention to both procedural detail and human dynamics. She combines court experience with client counseling, addressing legal issues while also managing the practical questions clients bring to the office.
Colleagues describe her as reliable in managing casework and responsive to procedural requirements. In court, she presents filings and arguments in a clear, straightforward manner. Outside the courtroom, she spends time preparing clients for hearings and negotiating where settlement serves a client’s interests. That mix of litigation and negotiation is common in family law and defines much of her daily practice.
She remains active in local legal circles through the Mobile Bar Association and the Family Law Section. Those affiliations provide continuing education and local networking that inform her work. They also reflect the regional focus of her practice and its roots in the Mobile area.
She continues to practice at Pilgrim & Pilgrim in Alabama. Her current practice focuses on family law matters.
