About Jessica

Jessica Murzyn graduated from Columbia University in 1994 and earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania in 1999. Those academic foundations led quickly to practice. She entered private practice the same year she finished law school and has built a steady career in New York’s legal community.

Her earliest professional years were spent at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, where she joined the firm in 1999. She later moved to Friedman Kaplan Seiler & Adelman LLP, joining that firm as a lawyer in 2008. In 2013 she took on a senior counsel role at Rich, Intelisano & Katz, LLP, a position that is listed among her current affiliations. The sequence of firms maps onto a path across several well-known New York practices and different legal environments.

Murzyn is admitted to practice in the State of New York and holds federal admissions that include the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. She is also admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Those admissions allow her to handle matters at trial level and on appeal in the region’s principal federal venues.

Her professional memberships extend to the Bar of the State of New York and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. She has maintained an active presence in those organizations while moving between firms. The memberships tie her into the local bar and provide a steady point of contact with fellow practitioners and court personnel.

Columbia and Penn mark the start of Murzyn’s legal formation. Her time at Simpson Thacher, Friedman Kaplan Seiler & Adelman, and Rich, Intelisano & Katz traces a conventional progression from associate roles to a senior counsel position. Over the years she has navigated the demands of practice in New York’s state and federal courts, and she has remained based in the city’s legal scene.

As of 2026 she continues her work at Rich, Intelisano & Katz, LLP. Her current practice is centered on handling matters in New York state and federal courts, including appellate matters in the Second Circuit.
