About Jessica

Jessica McHale pursued a path that combined communication and law. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Journalism from St. John Fisher College in 2010. She then studied law at Florida Coastal School of Law and received her J.D. in 2013. The sequence of degrees shaped a practical skill set: clear writing, careful analysis and an ability to explain complex ideas in plain language.

After law school McHale entered practice and steadily took on more responsibility. Within two years she moved into a leadership role, becoming the managing lawyer at Volks Anwalt in 2015. That position put her in charge of daily legal operations and firm administration, overseeing case workflow and supporting other lawyers in the office. The role required both legal judgment and organizational oversight, and it anchored her career in firm management as well as client work.

McHale is admitted to practice in both Florida and New York. Those dual jurisdictions allow her to handle matters that cross state lines and to counsel clients with interests in either state. She maintains membership in professional organizations, engaging with peers and staying current on developments that affect practice in those jurisdictions.

Her undergraduate studies in communication and journalism continue to influence how she approaches legal work. She tends to emphasize clarity in written materials and directness in client conversations. That background also shapes how she prepares records and explanatory materials for clients and courts, aiming to make complex legal points accessible to nonlawyers.

Colleagues describe McHale as steady and pragmatic in approach. She has focused on building reliable systems inside the firm to manage caseloads and client expectations. In court or in negotiation, she favors preparation and straightforward presentation of facts. Over time she has balanced casework with administrative duties, keeping both strands of practice active.

She is based at Volks Anwalt’s New York office. From there she manages firm matters and represents clients in the two states where she is licensed. She currently practices from the firm’s New York office, handling matters that arise in New York and Florida.
