About Jessica Ann
Jessica Ann Foley built her legal foundation at Northeastern University School of Law, where she earned her J.D. in 1998. Before law school she studied biochemistry at Smith College, graduating in 1993. Those early choices placed science and law on the same path for her, and they inform how she approaches cases today.
Her early career moved quickly into public service. In 2001 she joined the Plymouth County District Lawyer's Office as an assistant district lawyer. That role gave her courtroom time and direct exposure to the day-to-day work of prosecutors. She transitioned to private practice in 2005 as an associate at Sakakeeny & Associates, then took on two roles in 2007: of counsel at Grandfield & Murphy, LLP and a lawyer position at Sullivan & Sweeney, LLP. In 2009 she opened her own firm, the Law Office of Jessica A. Foley, and has run it since.
That mix of public and private work underpins her approach to criminal and family cases. Her certifications from the Committee for Public Counsel Services include membership on the Criminal Defense Trial Panel, Youthful Offender Defense certification, and placement on the Children and Family Law Trial Panel. Those qualifications reflect both trial experience and work representing clients in sensitive, high-stakes matters involving young people and families.
Alongside courtroom work, Foley has maintained ties to the local bar. She has been a member of the Massachusetts State Bar since 2002. Her years in practice span roles on both sides of the aisle: prosecutorial work early in her career and defense and family advocacy later. That range gives her perspective on how cases are built and defended, from initial filings through resolution.
Clients encounter a lawyer who emphasizes preparation and direct communication. She draws on the procedural training of her early prosecutorial work and the strategic demands of private practice. Her firm handles criminal defense matters and cases that touch on youth and family law, including contested hearings and trial work when required.
In daily practice she manages the Law Office of Jessica A. Foley, representing clients in Massachusetts courts. Her current practice focuses on criminal defense and family law matters in Massachusetts.
