About Jesse

Jesse Reiter is the founder and managing partner of ABC Law Centers: Birth Injury Lawyers, located in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Since 1987, he has dedicated his legal career to advocating for children and families affected by birth injuries and birth trauma. His firm specializes in complex cases involving conditions such as hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) and cerebral palsy, providing essential support to those navigating the challenges of these serious medical issues. Reiter's commitment to this area of law stems from a understanding of the emotional and financial burdens faced by affected families. Reiter earned his Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, Illinois, where he developed his legal skills and developed a focus on personal injury law. Prior to that, he graduated with high honors from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science.

His educational background laid a strong foundation for his legal career. Admitted to practice law in Michigan, Ohio, and the District of Columbia, Reiter has established a broad professional footprint. He is also a member of the U.S. Supreme Court Bar, underscoring his qualifications and commitment to the legal profession. Throughout his career, Reiter has taken on numerous leadership roles within the legal community. He served as president of the Michigan Association for Justice (MAJ) from 2006 to 2007, where he worked to advance the interests of trial lawyers and their clients.

Additionally, he has been a governor for the American Association for Justice (AAJ) and chaired the Professional Negligence Section of the AAJ. His involvement with the executive board of the Birth Trauma Litigation Group (BTLG) further highlights his dedication to improving legal practices related to birth trauma cases. Reiter's accomplishments have not gone unnoticed; he has received numerous accolades for his work in personal injury law. In 2022, he was named "Lawyer of the Year" for Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiffs in Troy, Michigan, by The Best Lawyers in America. His recognition by Michigan Lawyers Weekly as a "Leader in the Law" and "Lawyer of the Year" speaks to his influence and reputation in the field. Furthermore, he has been listed in Super Lawyers Magazine and recognized as a Top 100 Trial Lawyer by the National Trial Lawyers Association, reflecting his commitment to excellence in legal practice.

In addition to his legal work, Reiter is passionate about advancing medical research related to birth injuries. He established the Reiter HIE Research Fund at the University of Michigan, which supports research into effective treatments for hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy. His firm, ABC Law Centers: Birth Injury Lawyers, is recognized for its exclusive focus on birth injury cases, having been listed in the "Best Law Firms in America" by U.S. News & World Report every year since 2008. This dedication to both legal advocacy and medical research underscores Reiter's commitment to making a meaningful impact in the lives of families affected by birth injuries.
