About Jesse David
Jesse David Hoffman earned his law degree from Southern Methodist University in 2005 after completing undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin, where he received a B.A. in English Rhetoric and Political Science in 2000. The combination of rhetoric and politics shaped his approach to legal writing and advocacy early on. He has since maintained active ties to professional circles in Texas law.
Hoffman’s early post-law school years included work that blended research and publication. In 2008 he served as a researcher for the American Law Institute. That same year he contributed to legal editorial work at Getlegal.com. Those roles gave him experience in legal analysis and the preparation of materials for practitioners and the public.
In 2009 Hoffman joined the Office of the Lawyer General as an Assistant Lawyer General. There he handled matters on behalf of a state legal office, gaining courtroom and advisory experience. By 2011 he had moved into private practice as a partner at McCathern, PLLC. His progression from public service to private firm partner reflects a steady expansion of responsibility and caseload.
Hoffman is admitted to practice in Texas and in federal courts across the Fifth Circuit. His federal admissions include the United States Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas, as well as the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. He has maintained professional ties to the state bar, holding full membership in The College of the State Bar of Texas since 2010.
His practice combines courtroom experience and written advocacy. He handles litigation and counsel matters that require familiarity with state regulatory frameworks and federal procedure. The work draws on his early research and editorial background when preparing briefs and motions. Colleagues note his steady approach to case preparation and his routine involvement in trials and appeals handled by the firm.
At McCathern, PLLC Hoffman carries responsibility for litigation strategy, client advisals and courtroom presentation. He works on matters heard in both state and federal tribunals across Texas. His current practice addresses a range of civil litigation issues and related appellate work.
