About Jesse Abraham

Jesse Abraham Haskins earned his J.D. from Duke University School of Law in 2009. He completed his legal education after studying at Duke, where he developed an interest in public law and regulatory practice. Those classroom years set the stage for a career that has alternated between government service and private practice.

He moved into public-sector work early in his career. In 2012 he joined the Florida Department of Financial Services as Assistant General Counsel. That role placed him inside a state agency that handles a broad array of financial and regulatory matters. He handled legal questions tied to oversight and compliance, and he learned how state policy and administrative rules affect businesses and individuals across Florida.

In 2016 he took a position as Assistant Lawyer General in the Florida Office of the Lawyer General. The shift kept him in the public arena but broadened the scope of issues he encountered. He worked on matters that required coordination across offices and often involved both statutory interpretation and administrative procedure. The experience reinforced his familiarity with government litigation and regulatory enforcement.

Outside of government work, Haskins has been active in professional organizations related to agricultural and management law. Since 2020 he has served as Vice Chair of the American Bar Association’s Agricultural Management Section. That role has him engaged in the professional conversation around agriculture-related legal issues, policy developments, and peer education. He also holds memberships in other professional associations reflecting his practice in multiple jurisdictions.

Haskins is admitted to practice in Florida and North Carolina. After years in state government he established a private practice under the name J Haskins Law. His practice blends the procedural knowledge gained in government with an understanding of regulatory and financial systems. He assists clients on matters that intersect with state regulation, administrative processes, and agricultural management issues. He currently concentrates his practice on regulatory and administrative matters affecting businesses and individuals.
