About Jerry J.
Jerry J. Jen studied legal studies at the University of California, Berkeley, earning his B.A. in 1996. He returned to law school nearly a decade later and received his J.D. from Western State College of Law at Argosy University in 2005. Those academic milestones set the stage for a career that blends courtroom practice with firm management.
He began practicing in private firms and spent time as an associate at Zee Law Group, P.C., starting in 2009. In that role he handled litigation matters and learned the rhythms of case preparation, client counseling and courtroom procedure. Colleagues recall a lawyer who balanced attention to detail with the everyday demands of a busy practice.
In 2015 he became the managing lawyer of Jen Law Office, A Professional Corporation. That move shifted more of his time to overseeing the firm’s operations while he continued to appear in court. As managing lawyer he is responsible for case strategy, supervising staff and coordinating filings across multiple courts.
He is admitted to practice in California and in several federal courts. His jurisdictions include the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California, the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. That admission profile means he handles matters at both the trial and appellate levels when cases require federal litigation.
Outside the office he maintains steady involvement in professional and community organizations. He has been a member of Provisors since 2013 and joined the Southern California Chinese Lawyers Association in 2018. He also has served with the Rotary Club of Playa Venice Sunrise and has been listed as President Elect there since 2014. Those memberships reflect ongoing ties to local professional networks and civic life.
Clients and peers describe a lawyer who divides his time between managing a small firm and litigating in state and federal courts. He has built a practice that handles courtroom work and the administrative duties of running a professional corporation. He currently focuses on representing clients in federal and state courts.
