About Jermecia A.
Jermecia A. Beachem built her legal foundation in classrooms and in the courtroom. She earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Davidson College and later received her law degree from Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law. Early classroom training set the stage for a career that has been rooted in Texas practice.
After law school, Beachem moved quickly into private practice. She established Beachem Law Office, P.C. in 2009 and has served as its owner and principal attorney since then. Her admission to the State Bar of Texas dates to 2009, and her practice is also admitted in the U.S. Southern District of Texas and in federal bankruptcy courts. She holds a Continuing Legal Education Certification from the Texas Bar College, an indication of ongoing professional development.
Her career includes a long record of professional leadership and community engagement. She served as president of the Houston Lawyers Association from 2013 to 2014 and then as Immediate Past President from 2014 to 2015. She was a board member of the same association from 2011 through 2015. Beyond that, she was executive director of The Downtown Group from 2015 to 2017 and has maintained membership in that organization since 2014. She has been involved with the Fort Bend County Bar Association, the Houston Bar Association and the National Bar Association in the past, and continues to hold membership in several local and state bar organizations.
Family law professionals have known her through more focused groups as well. She belongs to The Houston Family Law Group and has been active in the Burta Rhoads Raborn Family Law Inn of Court since 2015. Within that Inn of Court she has taken on leadership roles, serving as Awards Committee Chair beginning in 2020 and as a Team Leader beginning in 2022. These roles reflect her interest in peer education and in the procedural and ethical dimensions of family law practice.
Outside of strictly legal circles, Beachem is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. That affiliation complements a career that blends practice, association leadership and local civic engagement. She runs Beachem Law Office, P.C., where her work centers on family law and related matters in state and federal courts.
