About Jeremy W.
Jeremy W. Sackett built his professional foundation at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, where he earned his Juris Doctor in 2004. He entered the legal world in the mid-2000s and moved steadily through public and private practice. The early years of his career gave him hands-on courtroom experience and exposure to the procedural side of litigation.
After law school he joined Rekowski & Associates as an associate in 2005. That role was followed by a position in local government. In 2006 he became an Assistant State's Lawyer in the Madison County State's Lawyer's Office. There he handled matters on behalf of the state, gaining trial experience and familiarity with county court procedures. Those responsibilities shaped how he approaches litigation and case preparation.
Sackett moved back into private practice in 2012 when he became a partner at Swanson and Sackett, P.C. As a partner he took on a mix of casework and firm management duties. He balanced client representation with the administrative tasks that come with running a small firm. That combination of courtroom work and office oversight prepared him for the next step in his professional life.
In 2022 he opened Sackett Law, P.C. as the firm’s owner. The transition to firm leadership meant taking full responsibility for case strategy, client intake and the business side of practice. He is admitted to practice in Illinois and to the federal bar for matters before U.S. government courts and agencies, a credential that permits representation in both state and certain federal forums.
Outside the courtroom he has stayed involved in the legal community. He has volunteered with the Lawyers Assistance Program since 2015. He has also been a member of the Madison County Bar Association since 2006. Those roles reflect an ongoing connection to peers and to local legal institutions rather than a separate public profile.
His career path shows steady movement from associate to public prosecutor, then to partner and firm owner. That progression informs how he manages cases today. At Sackett Law, P.C. he oversees the firm’s work and represents clients in matters in state and federal courts.
