About Jeremy
Jeremy Flachs graduated from Wake Forest University with a B.A. in 1975 and earned his J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law in 1978. He moved quickly from student to practitioner, setting up his own office the following year. The early leap into private practice defined much of his professional life.
He established The Law Offices of Jeremy Flachs in 1979 and has served as owner and principal lawyer since that time. That long stretch in private practice has kept him regularly in court. He is admitted to practice in Virginia and in the District of Columbia, and he holds federal admissions in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
Flachs has maintained steady involvement in legal organizations. He belongs to the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association and the Trial Lawyers Association of Metropolitan Washington, D.C. He is a member of the Alexandria and Arlington bar associations. He also holds membership in the Virginia State Bar and the District of Columbia State Bar, and he is admitted in Pennsylvania. Nationally, he has been part of the American Association for Justice since 1985.
Over decades of practice, Flachs has built a practice that stays rooted in courtroom work. He has repeatedly returned to trial and to litigation in state and federal forums. That practical orientation shows in the associations he keeps and in the courts where he is admitted. Colleagues and opposing counsel have encountered him in contested proceedings over the years.
His career path is straightforward. After law school he launched a solo practice and sustained it across changing legal landscapes and shifting case law. The law office he started in 1979 remains the vehicle for his practice. He continues to manage the firm and to handle the cases that come through its doors.
Outside of court appearances, Flachs’s long-term memberships in local and national trial lawyer groups reflect an ongoing connection to the trial bar. He participates in bar activities and local legal community events. He is known for steady involvement rather than public-facing academic posts or high-profile administrative roles.
He currently practices from The Law Offices of Jeremy Flachs and focuses his work on litigation and trial matters in Virginia and the District of Columbia.
