About Jennifer Marie

Jennifer Marie Zupp built her legal foundation at the University of South Dakota School of Law, where she earned her J.D. in 2006. She completed undergraduate studies at Buena Vista University in 2003, taking degrees in criminal justice and political science and concentrating in Spanish. Those early years set a practical tone for a career rooted in the law of the workplace.

Her career has intertwined practice and professional service. Zupp has been active in statewide organizations that shape how workers’ compensation is handled in Iowa. She has served on the Continuing Legal Education Committee and on the Workers Compensation Core Group of the Iowa Association for Justice. She was co-chair for two years of the annual workers’ compensation symposium convened by the Iowa Workers’ Compensation Advisory Committee. She is currently a board member of the Iowa Association of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers.

Her committee work extends into the civic side of the legal system. Zupp serves on the nominating commission for Iowa Judicial District 3B, a role that involves evaluation of judicial candidates and participation in the selection process for the district. Those responsibilities reflect a long-term engagement with the profession beyond courtroom representation.

Local community service figures in her biography as well. Zupp has been on the board of the Norelius Community Library in Denison, Iowa since 2010 and has served as its president. That steady involvement in a small-town institution speaks to sustained ties in the community where she practices.

Colleagues and clients encounter a practitioner who balances litigation and policy work. Her work in workers’ compensation panels and symposiums suggests steady courtroom and administrative practice, supplemented by a role in continuing legal education for other lawyers. She has taken on organizational tasks, from symposium leadership to board governance, that influence practice standards across the state.

In addition to committee and board duties, Zupp’s day-to-day law practice remains centered in Iowa. She handles matters arising under the state’s workers’ compensation system and participates in the professional networks that shape those rules and procedures. Her current practice focuses on workers’ compensation and related litigation in Iowa.
