About Jennifer
Jennifer Leffler attended Gettysburg College, where she completed her Bachelor of Arts. She later earned her Juris Doctor from George Mason University School of Law. Those academic stops set the groundwork for a career that has moved between government service and private practice in Virginia.
Her first known post after law school was in the federal system. In 2003 she worked as a program analyst at the United States Department of Justice. That early role exposed her to policy and administrative processes at the federal level. In 2010 she returned to Virginia government as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Lawyer in Fairfax County, handling prosecutorial work for the local jurisdiction. The position gave her courtroom experience and familiarity with state criminal procedure.
By 2012 she shifted into private practice, joining Leffler and Mosley as a lawyer. That move broadened her work beyond government files into matters that required direct client counsel. Three years later she took on a leadership role at LefflerPhillips, PLC and became a partner in 2015. Since then she has maintained a practice based in Virginia through the firm.
Colleagues describe her career as one that spans both public service and private representation. She has moved between roles that require different skill sets: policy analysis and compliance on one hand, courtroom advocacy on the other. The sequence of positions shows a lawyer who understands the mechanics of government and the demands of litigation in local courts.
Outside of casework she keeps professional ties current. She holds active membership in at least one legal association, and remains engaged with peers in the Virginia legal community. That engagement helps her stay informed about practice developments and local court practices.
Today she is a partner at LefflerPhillips, PLC. She practices law in Virginia and maintains an active role in the firm’s caseload and operations.
