About Jennifer H.
Jennifer H. Sitterley built a career at the intersection of law and community service. She earned a B.S. in finance from The Ohio State University in 2002, completed an MBA at the New York Institute of Technology in 2006, and received her J.D. from the University of Akron School of Law in 2009. Those degrees underpin a practice that blends legal analysis with practical planning.
Early in her professional life she moved into matters affecting older adults and their families. Over time she added credentials to match that trajectory. She is a Certified Specialist in Elder Law through the Ohio State Bar Association and a Certified Elder Law Lawyer from the National Elder Law Foundation. Those certifications reflect a steady concentration on the legal needs of seniors and people facing long-term care issues.
Sitterley’s work has extended beyond the office. She holds several leadership roles in county and statewide organizations. She serves as Treasurer of the Fairfield County Bar Association and is President of the Ohio Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. Locally she is Vice President of Fairfield County United Way, Secretary of the Fairfield County Republic Executive Committee, and President of AHA! A Hands On Adventure Children’s Museum. These posts keep her connected to civic life and to the practical problems residents bring to legal counsel.
Her legal practice is organized through Sitterley Law LLC. There she handles matters commonly associated with elder law. Clients consult her about long-term care planning, Medicaid eligibility, estate planning, guardianship, and the related paperwork that families must manage. She works with both individuals and their adult children to set up plans that reflect changing health and financial circumstances.
Colleagues and clients often note that her approach is methodical. She lays out options in clear terms and explains the trade-offs that accompany different planning choices. She also coordinates with financial advisers and care providers when a plan requires it. In the nonprofit and civic roles she holds, she applies similar skills to board governance and fundraising activities.
She balances practice and leadership in the community while maintaining her certifications and active membership in the Ohio bar. She practices elder law and related matters at Sitterley Law LLC.
