About Nicholas
Nicholas Costaras combined parallel academic tracks early in his career. He earned two bachelor's degrees from Xavier University in 2007 and completed both a Juris Doctor and an MBA at Cleveland State University in 2010. The law degree and business degree were finished the same year, positioning him to move between corporate and legal work from the start.
He entered the legal world as in-house counsel. In 2011 he served as chief legal counsel at UrbanCode, Inc., where he handled day-to-day legal matters for a software-focused business. Two years later he joined IBM as corporate counsel. That stint placed him inside a large, global corporation and gave him exposure to enterprise-level legal work. In 2014 he returned to private practice and became managing partner of Costaras Law, LLC.
The arc of his career runs between in-house roles and private practice. Those positions shaped the kinds of questions he fields now. He has experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, advising on corporate governance and handling regulatory and transactional issues encountered by companies at different stages.
