About Jennifer
Jennifer Cochran built a legal foundation at two very different schools. She earned a B.B.A. in Marketing from Texas A&M University–Commerce, then moved to New England Law | Boston, where she completed her J.D. in 2005. Those years set a practical tone to her approach to practice.
She launched her own practice in 2008 and has served as lawyer and owner of the Law Offices of Jennifer R. Cochran P.C. since then. Running a solo firm required her to handle casework, client intake, and the business side of a practice. It also shaped the kinds of matters she takes and how she manages them.
Cochran’s training centers on mediation and family-related dispute resolution. She completed a 40-hour Basic Mediation Training and a 30-hour Advanced Family Mediation Training through the Austin Dispute Resolution Center. She also finished 16 hours of Parenting Coordination and Facilitation Training at Manousso Mediation. Those certifications inform the services she offers and how she structures negotiations and courtroom alternatives.
Her professional memberships reflect consistent involvement in local and specialty bar communities. She has held a membership in the Travis County Bar Association since 2009 and in the Hays County Bar Association since 2010. She joined the Texas Family Law Foundation and the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts in 2012 and 2014 respectively, and has been part of the College of the State Bar of Texas since 2014. Since 2015 she has served on the board of Adoption Knowledge Affiliates, where she carries the title of Vice President.
Cochran also volunteered early in her career. From 2008 through 2013 she worked with Volunteer Legal Services of Central Texas, helping clients who could not otherwise afford counsel. That work offered exposure to a wide range of family law issues and community needs.
Her office is based in Texas and she practices under the firm name Law Offices of Jennifer R. Cochran P.C., a practice she established nearly two decades ago. Her work routinely involves mediation, parenting coordination, and family law matters that intersect with adoption issues.
She continues to maintain memberships in professional organizations that shape family law practice in Texas and to participate in trainings that expand her mediation and facilitation skills. Her current practice concentrates on family law, mediation and related matters.
