Jeffrey Wicks is a seasoned criminal defense attorney based in Rochester, New York, with over 40 years of dedicated experience in the legal field. His practice, located at 36 West Main Street, Suite 101, Rochester, NY 14614, focuses on criminal law, DUI & DWI. Family law. Mr. Wicks is known for his understanding of the law and his commitment to defending the rights of his clients. In 1982, Mr. Wicks earned his Juris Doctor from Gonzaga University School of Law, a pivotal step that laid the foundation for his extensive career. Prior to this achievement, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the State University of New York at Oswego in 1975.

After being admitted to the New York State Bar in 1984, he began his legal journey, which has since included a variety of roles and responsibilities within the legal community. Before establishing his own practice in 2002, Mr. Wicks served as a public defender at the Monroe County Public Defender’s Office for nearly five years. This experience provided him with invaluable insights into the criminal justice system and developed his skills in defending individuals facing serious charges. Following his time as a public defender, he became a partner at Bansbach, Zoghlin, Wicks & Wahl, P.C., where he continued to develop his expertise in criminal defense. In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Wicks has made significant contributions to academia. He has served as an adjunct professor at The College at Brockport, part of the State University of New York system.

There, he taught courses such as "The Death Penalty in America" and "Forensic Evidence in Criminal Cases," sharing his knowledge and experience with the next generation of legal professionals. His dedication to education supports his fostering a deeper understanding of the law among students. Mr. Wicks has also been recognized for his pro bono work, receiving the New York State Bar Association President’s Pro Bono Service Award multiple times. His involvement in the legal community extends to memberships in the Monroe County Bar Association, the New York State Defenders Association, and the New York State Bar Association. He is admitted to practice before all New York state courts, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of New York, the U.S.

Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. The Supreme Court of the United States. Outside of his professional life, Mr. Wicks resides in Rochester with his wife, Rachel, and their daughter, Jane. He enjoys music and has been a musician for most of his life, actively playing and performing in a local band.
