About Jeffrey R.
Jeffrey R. Garvin began his academic journey at Western Carolina University, where he completed his Bachelor of Arts in 1970. He went on to earn a Juris Doctor from the University of Florida in the early 1970s. Those years of study set the stage for a long career in Florida’s civil courts.
Garvin moved into practice during a period of change in the legal profession. He built a practice centered on trial work, earning Board Certification as a Civil Trial Lawyer from the Florida Bar. That credential signals a recognized competence in courtroom litigation and the handling of civil jury trials.
Over the decades he has taken on leadership roles inside and outside the bar. He served as president of the American Board of Trial Advocates, Florida Chapters, in 2010 and 2011. He has also held terms as president of the Calusa Inns of Court, the Edison Community College Endowment Corporation, and the Sanibel-Captiva Rotary Trust Fund. Those posts reflect a pattern of local involvement and professional engagement.
In 2008 Garvin assumed the role of managing partner at Garvin Injury Law. He has steered the firm through changing tides in litigation and client expectations. As managing partner he oversaw case strategies, courtroom preparation, and the mentoring of younger lawyers. The firm’s name signals an emphasis on injury matters, and trial practice has remained a central element of his work.
Colleagues and peers have known him for his trial experience and for taking on complex civil disputes. His Board Certification distinguishes him among civil practitioners in Florida, indicating both courtroom time and peer recognition. He has combined courtroom practice with civic and professional leadership, moving between trial calendars and organizational meetings with a steady rhythm.
Today Garvin continues to practice in Florida as the managing partner at Garvin Injury Law. He remains active in local legal circles and community organizations. His day-to-day work centers on civil trial matters and injury litigation, where he maintains an active role in preparing and trying cases in state courts.
