About Jeffrey

Jeffrey Priest earned his law degree in 1993 and has built a long career in private practice since then. He trained at Michigan State University College of Law, completing his Juris Doctor in 1993. The law school years shaped his approach to legal problems and provided the groundwork for a practice that has spanned decades.

After finishing law school, Priest entered private practice. He has spent the majority of his career working in small-firm and solo-practitioner settings. That path has required him to take on a variety of tasks that lawyers in those environments often manage: counseling clients, preparing documents, negotiating settlements and appearing in court when necessary.

Over time his work has covered a broad mix of matters. He has handled transactional work alongside contested matters, balancing behind-the-scenes preparation with advocacy when cases proceeded to litigation. The variety of assignments kept his day-to-day work varied. It also meant developing practical skills in client intake, case assessment and courtroom procedure.

Colleagues and clients have noted his steady presence in practice. He has remained in private practice rather than moving into large-firm or government roles. That consistency has allowed him to see matters through from start to finish. It has also meant adapting to changes in law and procedure over a thirty-year span.

Today he practices from Priest Law Office. There he maintains a general practice that serves both individual and business clients. His work in 2026 continues to center on the kinds of civil and transactional matters commonly handled by small firms, including client counseling, negotiations and court representation when required. He continues to operate his practice from Priest Law Office, focusing on providing legal services to a range of clients.
