About Jeffrey
Jeffrey McGuire built a path from numbers to the courtroom. He earned a B.S. in Mathematics from Pennsylvania State University, University Park, in 1984 and a J.D. from Temple University School of Law in 1991. Those foundations shaped a methodical approach to legal work and decision making.
He became a member of the Pennsylvania State Bar in 1995 and joined the Dauphin County Bar Association in 1998. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and holds admissions to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court. He also holds certification as a Civil Trial Advocate from the National Board of Trial Advocacy, a credential that reflects additional training and examination in trial skills.
McGuire’s early practice years included a stint at Caldwell & Kearns beginning in 1998. He spent time handling client matters there and developing courtroom experience. In 2012 he moved into partnership at Cipriani & Werner P.C., a role that expanded his responsibilities to include supervising case strategies and mentoring junior lawyers.
Colleagues describe him as thorough and practical in how he prepares a file. He balances a deliberate attention to detail with an eye toward the best procedural route for a case. That temperament informed his decision to pursue the Civil Trial Advocate certification, which complements courtroom work and trial preparation.
He has maintained active bar memberships for decades. His involvement in the Dauphin County Bar Association and the Pennsylvania State Bar has kept him connected to local and statewide legal developments. Those memberships also provide channels for continuing education and professional exchanges that inform his daily practice.
McGuire’s admissions to several federal courts broaden the venues where he can represent clients. Rather than focusing only on state-level matters, he is able to take cases into federal appellate court and, by virtue of his U.S. Supreme Court admission, onto the nation’s highest bench if necessary. He has guided clients through complex procedural settings and the demands of trial work.
Now a partner at Cipriani & Werner P.C., he combines trial preparation and courtroom experience in his ongoing practice. He focuses his practice on civil litigation and trial work.
