About Jeffrey Ian
Jeffrey Ian Wasserman earned his law degree from Fordham University School of Law in 1999 after completing a Bachelor of Arts at Lafayette College in 1996. He moved from a liberal arts undergraduate program into the practice of law at a moment when federal litigation across New York and New Jersey remained active and complex. The sequence of his education set the stage for steady work in federal and appellate courts.
Early in his legal career he worked in environments that required court-room and appellate readiness. He served as a partner at Bracewell & Giuliani LLP, where he handled matters that involved filings and appearances in multiple federal districts. Those responsibilities gave him exposure to litigation practice at both the trial and appellate levels. He later transitioned to an Of Counsel role at Skoloff & Wolfe, P.C., taking on projects that benefit from experience in federal court procedure and appellate briefing.
Admission to courts across jurisdictions has been a defining feature of his practice. He is admitted in New York and New Jersey and holds admissions to the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of New York, the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Second and Third Circuits. Those admissions reflect a practice that operates in both trial-level federal forums and appellate courts. He also maintains active membership in the New York State Bar and the State Bar of New Jersey, which aligns with his cross-border practice between the two states.
Colleagues and clients see him most often on matters that require federal filings and appellate submissions. He has handled briefing, argued procedural motions, and prepared records for appellate review while working inside larger firm structures and in his current role at Skoloff & Wolfe, P.C. His work draws on courtroom familiarity and an ability to manage complex filings across district and circuit courts. He maintains a practice that concentrates on federal and appellate litigation in New York and New Jersey.
