About Jeffrey G.
Jeffrey G. Blackwell has practiced law in Alabama for more than three decades. He built a steady professional path from a law clerk’s desk to running his own office. His career shows continuity and local ties.
Blackwell completed undergraduate studies at the University of South Alabama, earning a B.S. in Accounting in 1992. He stayed in-state for law school and received his J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1995. Those years framed both his understanding of business matters and the demands of courtroom practice.
His entry into the profession began at Hardin & Hawkins. He served as a law clerk there in 1994 and joined the firm as a lawyer after graduating in 1995. Those early years provided hands-on experience in a firm environment and helped him develop a practical approach to casework and client communication.
In 1998 he became a partner at Hornsby Watson Hornsby & Blackwell. The partnership marked a step into management and higher-level responsibility for case strategy and firm operations. Over time he moved toward practice independence and, in 2016, established Blackwell Law Office. As owner and lawyer, he shifted into running a small firm model and overseeing daily practice decisions as well as client matters.
Blackwell has been a member of the Alabama State Bar since 1995 and belongs to the Alabama Association for Justice. Both affiliations are listed as current. They reflect a continuous bar membership and engagement with the statewide legal community over the course of his career.
Colleagues describe him as steady and deliberate. His work history emphasizes long-term involvement in Alabama courts and local practice settings rather than short-term projects or frequent relocations. He has managed the responsibilities that come with partnership and later firm ownership, balancing client work with administrative duties.
He maintains an active practice through Blackwell Law Office. His caseload has included matters that require both legal paperwork and courtroom presence. His current practice concentrates on representing individuals and businesses in matters before Alabama courts.
