About Jeffrey B.
Jeffrey B. McGuire built his legal foundation at the University of Mississippi, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration. He went on to receive his J.D. from Mississippi College School of Law. Those years in school shaped his approach to cases and his understanding of the systems he would later appear in.
After law school, McGuire entered practice in Mississippi. He represents clients in state trial courts, before the state appellate courts, and in federal court in Mississippi. He has handled matters that require courtroom work as well as the preparation of appellate briefs and federal filings.
McGuire is affiliated with the Mississippi State Bar and maintains an active presence in the state's legal community. His courtroom appearances and filings reflect familiarity with the procedural rules that govern state and federal practice in Mississippi. He draws on that procedural knowledge whether arguing motions, trying cases, or drafting appellate work.
He is currently associated with Hancock Law Office, PLLC. At the firm he takes cases that require representation across the different levels of Mississippi’s judiciary. The office serves clients whose matters involve factual development at the trial level and legal analysis on appeal or in federal court.
Colleagues describe McGuire as methodical. He prepares filings carefully and attends to the record. That attention to detail matters in both trials and appeals. McGuire balances written advocacy and oral argument, recognizing that both are important in persuading judges and resolving disputes.
Today he practices from Hancock Law Office, PLLC. His work continues to involve cases in Mississippi state courts, the state appellate courts, and Mississippi federal courts.
