About Jeff
Jeff Domen has built a steady career in Texas family law. He practices at Goranson Bain Ausley and has handled a wide range of domestic cases over more than two decades. His work has included trials, contested hearings, and collaborative matters in county courts and district courts across the region.
Domen earned his J.D. from Baylor Law School in 2000 after completing a B.S. in political science at Baylor University in 1997. Those years in Waco established his grounding in litigation and procedure and connected him with a network of peers who also stayed in Texas practice.
Early in his career he took opportunities that broadened his courtroom experience. In 2011 he served as an interim associate judge in the Dallas Family Courts. That role placed him on the bench for family-law hearings and gave him a closer view of judicial decision-making. He has also participated in local bar activities that expose him regularly to changes in family-law practice and local court procedures.
He is Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Board certification denotes a concentrated body of work in the specialty and requires periodic re-certification. In practice he handles divorce, child custody and visitation, asset division, spousal maintenance, and related post-judgment proceedings. He represents clients in negotiated settlements as well as contested hearings.
Domen maintains memberships across several county bar associations. He serves as a Director of the Collin County Bar Association and holds memberships in the Dallas County, Denton County and Frisco bar organizations. He is a member of the Collaborative Law Institute of Texas and is a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation. Earlier in his career he served on the Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee from 2009 to 2012, a role that involved review and education around practice boundaries.
He practices at Goranson Bain Ausley, where his calendar mixes trials and settlement work. He handles family-law matters for clients across the North Texas region and continues to appear in both county and district courts. His current practice focuses on family law, including divorce, custody, and related post-judgment issues.
