About Jayne Leslie

Jayne Leslie Brayer began her path to law after studying criminal justice at Temple University. She earned a Bachelor of Arts there and went on to Pace Law School, where she received her J.D. Her academic background combined a grounding in the social dimensions of crime with formal legal training.

After law school, Brayer built a practice centered on courtroom work. She is admitted to the New York bar and is authorized to appear before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. Those admissions allow her to handle matters that move between state and federal tribunals.

Her practice is conducted through the Law Office of Jayne L. Brayer, P.C. She maintains a small office and is available to meet clients by appointment only. Running a one-attorney firm has shaped how she manages cases and communicates with clients. It has also determined the types of matters she accepts and the personal involvement she maintains in each file.

Brayer holds current membership in the New York State Bar. That membership keeps her connected to developments in state law and court procedure. She has experience filing and arguing motions in both state and federal court, and she handles case preparation, discovery, and courtroom appearances depending on the needs of a matter.

Colleagues and clients describe her approach as direct. She tends to emphasize preparation and steady advocacy rather than publicity or large caseloads. Her work often requires detailed factual development and careful application of procedural rules. In practice, that can mean extended periods of document review followed by focused courtroom work when a hearing or trial date arrives.

Outside the courtroom, Brayer has kept a practice-oriented schedule. She balances casework with administrative responsibilities necessary to run a private firm. That includes client intake, case strategy, and the business aspects of legal practice. She accepts new matters on a selective basis and prioritizes cases where she can maintain close oversight.

Today, Jayne Leslie Brayer continues to practice through her firm in New York. She represents clients in matters brought in New York state courts and in the federal courts where she is admitted, and she meets with clients by appointment only.
