About Jay
Jay English is a board-certified personal injury trial lawyer based in Dallas, Texas. He has been practicing law since 1991, specializing in personal injury, medical malpractice, employment law, nursing home abuse, and civil rights cases. Born in East Texas, Jay attended Rice University before earning his Bachelor of Arts with honors from The University of Texas at Austin in 1990. He graduated with honors from The University of Texas School of Law in 1991 — After law school, Jay began his career with one of Dallas' largest law firms. In 1998, he founded his own firm, English Law Group, PLLC, where he has been continuously practicing since. Jay is admitted to practice in Texas and before several federal courts, including the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Eastern. Western Districts of Texas, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He has been recognized by Super Lawyers in 2022, 2023, and 2025. Jay is an active member of the Dallas Bar Association and the Texas Trial Lawyers Association.
