About Jason V.

Jason V. Owens blends a background in journalism with a steady legal career that began after law school. He earned a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1995 and a J.D. from Suffolk University Law School in 2004, where he studied civil litigation. The path from newsroom to courtroom left a mark on his approach to fact gathering and client communication.

While still a student he sought practical courtroom exposure. In 2005 he was a student advocate in the Family Law Division at the Hale and Dorr Legal Services Center of Harvard Law School. He served as a law clerk to the Honorable Robert W. Langlois in 2006 and later worked as registry staff and a legal intern at the Middlesex Probate and Family Court. Those roles led to a judicial clerkship in the Massachusetts Probate and Family Court in 2007, where he gained direct experience with family and probate procedures.

Before and alongside his early legal work Owens spent time in journalism and in corporate roles that emphasized writing and proposals. He was a reporter and feature writer for the Community Newspaper Company in 1999. He later held marketing and proposal positions—at CiviGenics, Inc. in 2000 and at Camp Dresser & McKee, Inc. in 2002 and again in a consulting capacity in 2005. Those positions sharpened his drafting skills and familiarized him with organizational communications.

In 2008 he became a partner and senior lawyer at Lynch & Owens, P.C. The firm role followed several years of courtroom and clerkship experience. Owens has maintained active bar involvement; he has been a member of the Massachusetts State Bar since 2007 and joined the Plymouth Bar Association in 2008. His background in probate and family court work informs much of his practice at the firm.

Owens handles civil litigation matters and appears regularly in probate and family law proceedings. Past positions in court registries and as a judicial clerk gave him practical insight into case management, filings and courtroom procedure. Clients encounter a lawyer who combines a reporter’s attention to detail with years of courtroom exposure.

At Lynch & Owens, P.C., he continues to serve clients in Massachusetts, focusing his practice on civil litigation, probate administration, and family law matters.
