About Jason R
Jason R Polen built a practice from a clear starting point: study, then launch. He completed a law degree at Lewis & Clark Law School in 2016 after concentrating in business law. Before that he earned a bachelor’s degree in international relations from Seattle University in 2011. Those academic choices shaped how he approaches legal work and client conversations.
Polen’s legal education combined classroom study with practical training. At Lewis & Clark he worked through courses that emphasized transactional thinking and the regulatory landscape that affects businesses. His undergraduate work in international relations provided a broader context for cross-border issues and public policy. The mix of those perspectives is a practical asset for a small-firm practitioner.
After graduating in 2016, Polen moved quickly to create his own practice. He founded Fortify Law that same year. The decision to open a firm so soon after law school signaled a preference for direct client contact and hands-on problem solving. At Fortify Law he set up a practice model intended to handle client matters without the layers of a larger office.
Polen is licensed to practice in both Oregon and Washington. He handles matters that arise under the laws of those states and works with clients who need counsel across the regional border. His dual-state admission allows him to file where necessary and to advise on issues that touch both jurisdictions.
Colleagues and clients describe Polen as pragmatic in his approach. He tends to frame problems in concrete terms and to break legal questions into manageable steps. That orientation reflects his background: business law training coupled with an interest in how institutions operate beyond the courtroom.
Fortify Law operates as a small, attorney-led firm. Polen oversees client intake and case strategy. He manages daily operations while also serving as the primary lawyer on most matters. The firm’s size allows for continuity of counsel and a hands-on relationship between attorney and client.
Polen continues to work in the Pacific Northwest. He maintains bar membership in Oregon and Washington and practices through Fortify Law. He focuses his practice on serving clients in Oregon and Washington.
