Jason R. Carnell built a steady path into the law after an early career in the military and private industry. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in history from the University of Central Florida in 2000, followed by a Master of Science in international relations from Troy University’s Dothan campus in 2006. He completed his legal studies at Georgia State University College of Law, receiving his J.D. in 2009.

In the early 2000s he served in the United States Air Force, holding roles that included section commander, manpower officer and officer in charge of aircrew training. He later worked as a builder for David Weekley Homes in 2005.
